iPhone - yay!

So, the new iPhone 6 has been announced and it will be ready for preorder tomorrow. Woot! I will be going to preorder that tomorrow. Now, onto my nails! They look absolutely gorgeous!
I used Zoya's color lock system.
First, I used Zoya's Get Even ridge filling base coat. Then I used Julep's Michelle (a Navy color) and Paris on the accent nail. I have been wanting Paris since I started my Julep subscription last year. It is super gorgeous and I'm so glad I got it. I then topped it with Zoya's Armor top coat and used the Fast Drops Polish Dryer.

Overall, I'm very happy with the manicure. I cleaned it up using acetone and the e.l.f. concealer brush from Target. A great purchase for you DIY manicurists.

I've been so busy with school lately that I haven't been able to do my nails and they felt so naked. Now they feel beautiful again! I hope I have enough time in the next week to do them so I can match my new iPhone. lol

Right now I'm off to study some more. Have a great night!

Jamberry

I took the plunge and decided to invest in Jamberry nail wraps. I bought 4 sets and just did my first full manicure with them on Monday (September 1st). I am ... not impressed.

They were extremely easy to put on and only took me about 30 minutes. I probably should get the little heater that is made for them rather than my hair dryer, which burnt me. Oh well.
It was difficult trying to find one that fit my entire nail side-to-side and ones that did kind of overlapped onto my skin so I had to cut them with nippers.
But the thing that bothers me most about them is the fact that I haven't even had them on a week and they are peeling up at the tips: the shorter nails are doing fine, but my long ones are not. I messaged my consultant to see if I should seal them somehow. I'll let you know what happens when she messages back. I do like that they look really cute.

First Day of Class

Today was the first day of classes at the College of Charleston and the first day for my last year. Woo! It was an okay day. I have already planned my schedule for next semester, which is pretty awesome because I can actually drop one class this semester. Yes, less stress and readings for me.

So let's get to what I wore (nail polish wise). This is now one of my favorite colors: Zoya's Harper. Part of their new collection from the Summer. I did a pretty good job of painting my nails this time and didn't even need to use acetone to clean them up. :) I didn't use any special top or base coat so there is no reason to list them.

It's been a while

Hello! It has been a week or so since I updated my blog. Such a slacker. I have been busy working and broke one of my nails pretty severely so I have not wanted to do my nails because it was painful just taking off the nail polish.

I have still been ordering nail supplies though. This came yesterday and I only got to open it today:
Holy nail mail, Batman! Thanks to the group I'm in on Facebook, I got all this for a very good price. I had a coupon for the Color Lock system and only paid for it and one of the nail polishes. It's crazy. I feel very accomplished.

I start school on Tuesday and I am definitely going to be doing my nails tomorrow evening, so I will post my thoughts on the Zoya Color Lock system then. Have a great night!

First Jamberry Attempt

Hello again! It's been a while. I'm sorry. But I did my nails again this evening and they look very pretty. I used Zoya's Dream (my first attempt with a holo) and a Jamberry wrap (black and white chevron). This was my first attempt with a wrap and I'm not sure how I feel about it. It seems like more work than just painting your nails, minus the dry time. Not having dry time is very convenient because I almost always smudge my nails otherwise. Let me know what you think.

Flashback Friday!

Woo! Here we are again. I have been super slack at keeping up with this blog. I have done, I think, three different manicures since the last post. I have been busy because I just got a job. :) It's in my field of study and I'm getting paid for it. Sweet! So I did a manicure on Sunday, which is here:

It was pretty much perfect. I have just bought the E.l.f concealer brush from Target and it is perfect for cleaning up around your cuticles and making your nail polish look phenomenal. This manicure was Juleps Vicki (main color), Lissa (accent nail), and Katerina (glitter on the middle and ring fingers). I really loved the colors and how well I did the polish.

I only wore that manicure for a day because I had an interview and wanted to have something more neutral. So I used Julep's Jules with Katerina over it. It was a very quick done manicure and you can see that. It also didn't last but three days, which is much less than I am used to. Typically, my manicures last me about a week.

The following is the manicure I did this evening. I liked the Lissa color so much that I used it again for an accent nail. The main color is Julep's Harriet with Andrea also on the middle finger. They look good, but not sure I like the gold glitter. I thought it would look nice with the coral, but... I'm not so sure now.

ManiMonday

So this is my first post and I would like to tell you what my blog is about. I will share my manicures to show color combinations and let you know what tools I use to get different effects (when I do them).

I also like to share different links for funny things or interesting things I find on the internet. This is my blog so I probably won't stick strictly to just nail polish and could possibly express my feelings, frustrations, or something I've learned that day that I find interesting.

I usually do my nails on Sundays and Thursdays since those are days that I don't have much to do. However, I did my nails today and thought I would share them. The colors are Julep's Denver, Malala, and the sparkles are Joelle.
It's an unusual color combination but I really like it and I love doing an accent nail. Hope you enjoy it too.

I'd also like to point out the reason I use a lot of Julep products. Their nail polish seems to go on smoother and they are vegan! I'm not a vegan or a vegetarian, but I like it when companies are trying to be cruelty free. I use their Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat and their Freedom Polymer Top Coat on manicures that I use their polishes. I read an article that said that the reason many people smudge or have scratches in their nail polishes is because they don't use the same brand of base and top coats, which make sense.

Julep's Ta Da! Quick Dry Drops (Found Here) are my favorite because it has a pleasant smell and helps my manicure be smudge free.

Well, that is all I have to talk about for now. Have a happy ManiMonday!
